January 1st to 4th - The title is in Arsenal's hands after Man City failed to win either of their games this week. They drew nil-all at Sunderland on Thursday and then drew one-all with Chelsea on Sunday. Enzo Fernandez scored an equaliser in the 94th minute as the hosts fell six points behind leaders Arsenal. Mikel Arteta's side came from behind to win at Bournemouth. Evanilson opened the scoring for the home side but an equaliser from Gabriel was followed by two second half goals from Declan Rice as the leaders won three-two on the South Coast. Aston Villa bounced back from their midweek defeat at Arsenal - they beat Nottingham Forest three-one at Villa Park to consolidate third place. Liverpool remain fourth despite two draws in the week. An uninspiring nil-all draw at home to Leeds was followed by a two-all draw at Fulham on Sunday. Cody Gakpo's late goal looked to have given the Reds a badly needed win but Harrison Reed equalised even later in injury time to give the Cottagers a point. Having improved over the last few weeks, Wolves finally picked up their first league win of the season. Three first half goals gave them a three-nil win at home to West Ham. Both sides remain firmly stuck inside the bottom three though. Burnley also remain in the drop zone after a two-nil defeat at Brighton. Brentford picked up a great three points on the road. Igor Thiago plundered a hat-trick as they won four-two at Everton. Keith Andrews' side are now seventh in the table, just a point behind Man United in fifth. United had to come from behind to earn a point at Leeds - Brenden Aaronson's second goal of the season was cancelled out by Matthias Cunha's leveller. Elsewhere, Newcastle beat Crystal Palace two-nil - Eddie Howe's side are now ninth in the table. Sunderland are eighth after another point away from home - Brian Brobbey's equaliser earning a point after Ben Davies had opened the scoring for Spurs. Tommy Walsh is off to a fast start in 2026 and leads the January competition on 65 points. Four people are just five points behind him on 60 points - Bobby Hynes, Eamon Fox, Frank McSweeney and Helen Fadian - full details below: |

January 6th to 8th - The top four all drew to leave the leading positions unchanged after the midweek games. Arsenal and Liverpool played out a goalless draw at the Emirates on Thursday night. Chances were at a premium with Arne Slot's side probably just edging it. Neither side could find a goal though and had to settle for a point. Man City remain in second place six points off the lead - City looked to be heading for victory when Erling Haaland opened the scoring. However, Kaoru Mitoma equalised in the second half to ensure they returned to the South Coast with a point. Aston Villa were held goalless by Crystal Palace on Wednesday night. Villa are also six points off top spot. Brentford climbed to fifth in the table with a three-nil win over Sunderland. Igor Thiago added another two goals to his season title and Caoimhin Kelleher saved a penalty too as Keith Andrews continued to defy the critics. The big match at the bottom of the table saw Nottingham Forest come from behind to win two-one at West Ham. Forest are now seven points clear of their opponents who are third from bottom. Wolves picked up another point, drawing at Everton. The Toffees ended with nine men on the pitch after red cards for Michael Keane and Jack Grealish. Game of the round was at Newcastle. Eddie Howe's side were behind three times against Leeds but Harvey Barnes scored a very late winner as Newcastle moved to just a point of the top five. The Darren Fletcher era started at Man United with a two-all draw at Burnley - that point should ease United's relegation fears a little further. Elsewhere, Antoine Semenyo scored an injury time winner for Bournemouth against Tottenham - his last game ahead of completing a move to Man City. Liam Rosenior watched from the stands as his Chelsea side lost two-one at Fulham. Harry Wilson scored a late winner for the home side. The top two in our main competition are also our top two for January. Tommy Walsh leads the monthly competition on 97 points and is five points clear of Helen Fadian in second place. Niall Carroll is third in the standings. After that we have five people on 77 points. Full details below: |

January 17th and 18th - Despite only drawing at Nottingham Forest, Arsenal increased their lead at the top to seven points. A goalless draw allowed Mikael Arteta's side to go a point further clear even though they were unable to muster a goal at the City Ground. Man City slipped up earlier in the day - Michael Carrick's bow as interim manager at Man United saw his side win two-nil at Old Trafford. United were dominant with second half goals from Mbuemo and Dorgu giving the long suffering Yanited fans a good day out. Aston Villa could have reduced the gap at the top to just four points but Unai Emery's side lost at home to Everton. Thierno Barry scored the only goal as Villa's eleven game winning run at home came to an end. Liverpool remain a distant fourth after more dropped points at home - Florian Wirtz continued his recent rich vein of form but Marcus Edwards equalised for Burnley in the second half to give Scott Parker's side a share of the points. Goals from Joao Pedro and Cole Palmer gave Liam Rosenior a win in his first league game in charge of Chelsea. That win saw the Blues move ahead of their opponents Brentford in sixth place. Sunderland came from a goal down to beat Crystal Palace two-one. A bad week for the Eagles which saw them lose their grip on the FA Cup and imminent departures of their captain and manager. Thomas Frank could be another manager making a trip to the job office soon too. His Tottenham side dropped to fourteenth in the table following defeat at home to West Ham. Callum Wilson bundled home the winner in injury time as the Hammers improved their chances of avoiding relegation. Leeds are eight points clear of the bottom three after Lukas Nmecha scored an injury time winner at home to Fulham. Sunday's second game ended scoreless as Wolves and Newcastle drew ay Molineaux. The top two overall remain the top two for January. Helen Fadian leads Tommy Walsh by just two points. There's a gap of thirteen points then back to Ciaran O'Hart and Craig Calvert who share third place. Brian Mullen and Robert Foley share fifth place, two points further back: |

January 24th and 25th - Man United's win at Arsenal on Sunday evening turned the title race on it's head. Man City beat Wolves two-nil and Aston Villa won by the same scoreline at Newcastle to reduce the gap to four points. A win in the late game would have restored the seven point lead but Matheus Cunha's late strike gave Michael Carrick another three points and left Mikel Arteta looking over his shoulder at the chasing pack. Chelsea returned to the top five with a three-one win at Crystal Palace. Goals from Estevao, Joao Pedro and Enzo Fernandez gave Liam Rosenior his fourth win in five since taking over. Liverpool continue to put up the worst title defence since, er, Liverpool in 2020-21. Despite clawing back a two goal deficit at Bournemouth, they still contrived to lose to Amine Adli's winner with pretty much the last kick of the game. At the bottom, there were big wins for West Ham and Nottingham Forest. The Hammers started off the weekend with a three-one win at home to Sunderland. That reduced the gap to just two points but Nottingham Forest responded with a two-nil win at Brentford on Sunday. Forest ended the weekend with a five point safety net in the battle to avoid relegation. Elsewhere, Cristian Romero scored an injury time equaliser for Spurs at Burnley. That mightn't be enough to keep Thomas Frank in a job though. Harry Wilson scored an injury time winner as Fulham beat Brighton two-one at Craven Cottage. That win sent Marco Silva's side up to seventh in the table, just three points outside the Champions League places. Brian Mullen is the new leader in the monthly competition - he has a three point lead over Helen Fadian with just six games left in the month. Bobby Hynes has climbed to third place, ten off the lead with Ciaran O'Hart and Tommy Walsh completing the top five for January: |

January 31st - Arsenal finished the month seven points clear after cantering to a four-nil win at Leeds. It was a timely response to last weekend's defeat at home to Man United. Goals from Zubimende, Madueke, Gyokeres and Gabriel Jesus gave the leaders a comfortable win. In the battle for the top four there were wins for Chelsea and Liverpool. Chelsea came from two down to beat West Ham three-two at Stamford Bridge. Enzo Fernandez scored an injury time winner for Liam Rosenior's side. It was more comfortable for Liverpool - they came from a goal down to beat Newcastle four-one at Anfield. Hugo Ekitike was the star of the show with a quickfire double just before half-time. Second half goals from Wirtz and Konate put the gloss on a decent win for Arne Slot's side. Elsewhere, Beto scored a very late equaliser for Everton who drew one-all at Brighton. Bournemouth won for the second weekend in a row - goals from Kroupi and Scott saw them record a two-nil win at Wolves. A score of 35 points this week saw Brian Mullen win the January competition by nine points. Helen Fadian finished second with Ciaran O'Hart in third place alongside Eamon Fox and Tommy Hamill who finished the month strongly. |
