November 2nd and 3rd - Bournemouth's recent good run continued as they followed their home win over Arsenal with a two-one win at home to Man City. Semanyo and Evanilson fired the south coast side into a two goal lead before Guardiola pulled one back for the champions. Andoni Iraola's side held out though to add another scalp to their growing collection. That defeat allowed Liverpool to move back to top spot - they had to come from behind to record their second victory of the week over Brighton. Goals in a two minute spell from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah gave Arne Slot an eighth victory from ten games so far. Nottingham Forest are proving to be the surprise package of the season - they're third in the table after beating West Ham three-nil at the City Ground. Chris Wood was among the scorers again in that one. Arsenal slipped out of the top four after a one-nil defeat at Newcastle - Alexander Isak scored the only goal of the game. Mikel Arteta's side have already dropped twelve points this season after picking up just one point from nine since the last international break. Chelsea remain in the top four - they picked up a point at Old Trafford. Moises Caicedo cancelled out Bruno Fernandes' opener for the mid-table side who remain thirteenth in the table. A good week for Spurs saw them score four goals in the second half to beat Aston Villa four-one - Dominic Solanke scored twice in that one. Southampton picked up their first win of the season - Adam Armstrong's late goal giving them a one-nil win over Everton. The visitors had a Beto equaliser ruled out by VAR late on. Ipswich were denied their first win of the season by Jordan Ayew's injury time equaliser for Leicester City. Wolves remain bottom of the table. All the goals at Molineaux came in the second half as Gary O'Neil's side drew two-all with Crystal Palace. The early leaderboard for November sees Christina Morgan and Ciaran O'Hart lead the way on 42 points. They have a two point lead over Derek McDonald and Ralph Goodwin whose joker scorelines handed them both 40 points this weekend. Niall Gregory completes the top five a further couple of points back. November 9th and 10th - Liverpool head into the international break with a five points lead at the top of the table. Goals from Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah helped the Reds to a two-nil at home to Aston Villa on Saturday night. The Anfield crowd was buoyed by the result which came in from Brighton before kick-off. Man City had lost their fourth consecutive game - the first time in Pep Guardiola's career. It looked like City had turned a corner when Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the Amex but goals inside fifteen minutes from Joao Pedro and Matt O'Riley turned the game on its head as the champions slipped to their second defeat of the season. Chelsea and Arsenal are both on nineteen points after their one-all draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening. Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring but Joao Pedro's fine strike ensured it ended honours even. Nottingham Forest's good run came to an end - despite opening the scoring they ended up losing at home to Newcastle United. Wolves recorded their first win of the season - a two-nil win at home to Southampton saw them move ahead of their opponents who drop to the bottom of the table. Crystal Palace dropped into the relegation zone after losing two-nil at home to Fulham. The Cottagers are just a point outside the top four after their second win of the week. Ipswich Town were this week's couponbusters - goals from Sammie Smodzics and Liam Delap saw them beat Tottenham two-one away from home. It was also the Tractor Boys first win of the season. Ruud van Nostrilboy's stint in charge of Man United came to an end with a fine three-nil win at home to Leicester City. Brentford picked up another entertaining win - they beat Bournemouth three-two. The only goalless game of the weekend came at the London Stadium where West Ham and Everton couldn't muster a goal between them in the David Moyes Derby. Our recent Euro 2024 predictions league winner, Ciaran O'Hart, has more silverware in his sights. He leads the monthly competition by seven points heading into the international break. Christina Morgan is now in second place with husband Gavin up to third place. Frank McSweeney has climbed to fourth with Aaron Nealon completing the top five. Full details below: |

November 23rd and 24th - Mo Salah's one man crusade to bring the title back to Anfield continued on Sunday. Liverpool showed they can win ugly when they came from two-one down to beat Southampton three-two at St Marys. The bottom side were on course for only their second win of the season but two goals inside the final quarter sent Liverpool eight points clear at the summit. Man City were aiming for five-in-a-row this season but a fifth defeat in a row leaves them faltering in the title race. This time it was Spurs who stunned the champions winning four-nil at the Etihad - two James Maddison goals did the damage in the first half with Pedro Porro and Brennan Johnson adding the gloss as Guardiola's kryptonite struck again in. Only one point separates City in second from Brighton in fifth. Chelsea, Arsenal and Brighton all won and are only a point behind City on 22 points. Chelsea won two-one at Leicester City, a game which ended up being Steve Cooper's last game in charge. Arsenal scored three without reply at home to Nottingham Forest. Brighton came out on top in a hard-fought South Coast Derby, winning two-one at Bournemouth. Ruben Amorim's first game in charge saw Man United earn a point in a relegation six pointer at Portman Road. Marcus Rashford opened the scoring inside two minutes but Omari Hutchinson earned a point for the Tractor Boys, levelling up matters just before half-time. Next up for United will be Everton who drew nil-all at home to ten-man Brentford despite twenty-seven attempts on goal. Wolves followed up their first win of the season last time out with an unexpected four-one win at Fulham. Unexpected on my weekend accumulator anyway... Crystal Palace were denied a win at Aston Villa when Ross Barkley headed home a late equaliser for Unai Emery's side. Ciaran O'Hart looks a good bet to win the November competition - with just seven games left in the month he has a seventeen point lead over Aaron Nealon in second place. Christina and Gavin Morgan share third spot with Jason Maloney and Monica Collins sharing fifth place - full details below: |

November 30th - Arsenal moved up to second place with a five-two win at West Ham on Saturday evening. All the goals at the London Stadium came in the first half. The Gunners had five different scorers with Bukayo Saka scoring one and assisting twice. For West Ham it was back to the drawing board after a good win at Newcastle on Monday night. Justin Kluivert created history becoming the first person to score a hat-trick of penalties in one game since the Premier League started in 1992. They came in Bournemouth's four-two win at Wolves. Southampton are four points adrift at the bottom of the table despite picking up a decent point at Brighton. The game finished one-all with Flynn Downes cancelling out Kaoru Mitoma's opener for the hosts. Kevin Schade also took home the match ball on Saturday - he scored a hat-trick in Brentford's four-one win at home to Leicester. That win sent Thomas Frank's side up to seventh in the table on Saturday night. The final game on Saturday saw the points shared between Crystal Palace and Newcastle - Daniel Munoz headed home a leveller for the Eagles in the fourth minute of injury time. As expected, there was no catching Ciaran O'Hart at the top of the monthly leaderboard. His margin of victory was 24 points in the end. Roisin Joyce finished the month strongly in second place. Third place was shared by four people - Bobby Hynes, Brian Haughton, Joe O'Brien and myself. Wonders never cease... |
