December 1st - Man City's woes increased with defeat at Anfield. Arne Slot's team went nine points clear at the top of the table after a two-nil win over the champions. Goals from Cody Gakpo and Mo Salah made it 34 points from 39 for the Reds. Pep Guardiola's side were a shadow of their former selves with little or nothing offered as an attacking force - they've now dropped to fifth in the table.

Chelsea joined Arsenal in joint second place. The Blues' good start to the season continued with a three-nil win at home to faltering Aston Villa. Jackson, Fernandez and Cole scored for the Stamford Bridge side. Ruben Almiron's first game at home in the league ended with a four-nil victory over Everton. Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee both scored twice as the new manager bounce extended to a third game for the Old Trafford faithful.

Sunday's other game saw the points shared by Tottenham and Fulham. Brennan Johnson opened the scoring for the hosts but Tom Cairney equalised for the visitors before receiving his marching orders late on.

Craig Calvert and Paul Moore share the lead in December - both of them picked up 29 points on Sunday. Peter Lavelle is third - he scored 24 points yesterday. After than we have nine people on 22 points - among them are David King and Jimmy Maguire who both put their joker scorelines to effective use over the weekend...

December 3rd to 8th - After a week with a double round of games Liverpool hold a five point lead at the top of the table with a game in hand. Storm Darragh put paid to Saturday's Merseyside derby so a three-all draw at Newcastle on Wednesday night was the only action the leaders saw this weekend. Chelsea were the only ones of the chasing pack to win twice. They scored nine on the road - winnings five-one at hapless Southampton and then coming from two down to win four-three at Tottenham. Enso Maresca's side are now second in the table.

Arsenal beat Man United two-nil on Wednesday night but were held by Fulham on Sunday. The Gunners had a late winner ruled out by VAR at Craven Cottage and remain six points off the lead having played a game more. Things went to bad from worse for Ruben Interim, sorry, Amorin, on Saturday evening when Nottingham Forest won three-two at Old Trafford - their first win there since 1994 .

Forest had already lost three-nil across Manchester at Man City on Wednesday night. However, any hopes of a City revival were put firmly on the back burner when they were held to a two-all draw by Crystal Palace in that one. Rico Lewis scored and was sent off in that one.

Aston Villa are sixth after they won two games in a row for the first time since September. a three-one win at Villa Park at home to Brentford was followed up by a one-nil win at home to Southampton on Saturday. Two wins have Bournemouth in the top ten - they beat Spurs one-nil on Thursday night and scored two very late goals to win two-one at Ipswich on Sunday.

At the bottom, Wolves remain in the bottom three after a four-nil defeat at Everton midweek. They meet West Ham in the aptly named El Sackico on Monday night with both managers under pressure. Leicester's position looks a lot better after picking up four points - they beat the Hammers three-one on Tuesday night and drew two-all with Brighton on Sunday.

Craig Calvert remains in pole position for December - a score of 72 points leaves him 5 points clear of Anastas Popov in second place. Eamon Gallagher has climbed to third place with fourth place shared by Gary Fitzpatrick and Sean Cafferkey - full details below:

December 14th and 15th - Leaders Liverpool had to dig deep to earn a point at home to Fulham. They were a goal and a man down after fifteen minutes following Andy Robertson's dismissal. However, they twice equalised with goals from Cody Gakpo and the returning Diogo Jota which maintained their long unbeaten run. Chelsea beat Brentford two-one on Sunday night to move to within two points of the leaders. Goals from Cucurella and Jackson saw them over the line and four points clear of third place.

Arsenal failed to capitalise on Liverpool's dropped points - they were held scoreless by Everton at the Emirates. While Arsenal's set-piece coach has been gaining plaudits for his work, Mikel Arteta's side haven't scored a goal from open play since early November and trail the leaders by six points having played a game more.

Nottingham Forest ended the weekend in fourth place. Their remarkable season continued with a two-one win at home to Aston Villa. Goals inside the final five minutes from Milenkovic and Elanga saw them turn a deficit into another three points. There was a dramatic finish to Sunday's Manchester Derby. City looked to be recording a much-needed win with a one-nil lead in the final ten minutes. However, late goals from Fernandes and Diallo saw the Red half leave the Etihad with all three points. The crisis deepens for Pep Guardiola's side who have now lost five games in the league this season. United, meanwhile, are just six points outside the top four after their win.

Gary O'Neil became the latest manager to lose his job this season - his Wolves side conceded an injury time winner at home to Ipswich Town, leading to his dismissal. Jack Taylor headed home the winner for the Tractor Boys in that one. Russell Martin could be next in line at the job centre - his Southampton side crashed to a five-nil defeat at home to Tottenham on Saunday night. James Maddison scored a couple in that one as the London side moved back into the top half.

Newcastle got back to winning ways with a four-nil thumping of Leicester City. Jacob Murphy scored twice for the Toon Army in that one. There was another surprise result at the Amex as Crystal Palace beat Brighton three-one in the M23 Derby. The three points earned there sees Palace move four points clear of the bottom three.

We're about halfway through the December competition and Craig Calvert continues to set the pace. He has a two point lead over David Cooney in second place, Overall leader, Brian Haughton, is in third place with Keith Ryan in fourth. Anastas Popov and Eamonn Gallagher share fifth place, just ten points off top spot:

December 21st and 22nd - Liverpool lead the Premier League at Christmas with a four point cushion and a game in hand. The Reds scored six at Tottenham on Sunday evening to further underline their title credentials. Mo Salah broke more records with two goals and two assists. Luis Diaz also scored twice, opening and closing the scoring with McAllister and Sbozolai also on the scoresheet. It's a wonderful life supporting the Reds at the moment. Chelsea dropped points for the first time in six games - they were held scoreless at Everton who continued their excellent record at home alone.

Arsenal are third in the table after Gabriel Jesus scored twice at Crystal Palace in a five-one win. Mikel Arteta's side are six points behind the leaders having played a game more. Nottingham Forest will spend Christmas in the top four after winning two-nil at Brentford.

Man City's nightmare before Christmas continued when they lost two-one at Aston Villa. Goals from Jhon Duran and Morgan Rogers made it an Emery Christmas for the Villans. Phil Foden pulled one back for the champions who are now an astonishing seventh in the table. Things were no better for their neighbours Man United who lost three-nil at home to Bournemouth for the second consecutive season - more repeats on the telly this Christmas...

Wolves got an unexpected new manager bounce after a three-nil win at Leicester. They'll be hoping new manager Vitor Pereira will be able to lead them to a great escape this season. Southampton remain eight points adrift at the bottom of the table despite a nil-all draw at Fulham.

Elsewhere, Newcastle are up to eighth in the table after a four-nil win at Ipswich Town on Saturday. Alexander Isak scored a hat-trick in that one. The points were shared in the final game of the weekend when West Ham and Brighton drew one-all.

With two rounds of games to go in December, Craig Calvert still leads the way in the monthly competition. The chasing pack is lead by Darragh Kenny who lies just one point off the lead. Overall leader, Brian Haughton, is still third with Tommy Walsh climbing to fourth this weekend - full details below:

December 26th to 29th - Liverpool's pursuit of a 20th league title showed no sign of slowing up. The Reds went eight points clear of the chasing pack with wins over Leicester and West Ham this week. Among the highlights was Mo Salah scoring twenty goals for an eighth consecutive season. Nottingham Forest, the surprise package of the season, are in second place. They beat Tottenham one-nil on St Stephen's Day and followed that up with a two-nil win at Everton on Sunday.

Arsenal beat Ipswich one-nil on Friday night - Kai Havertz scored the only goal. Mikel Arteta's side will head to Brentford on New Year's night nine points behind the leaders. Chelsea slipped up at home to Fulham. Late goals from Harry Wilson and Rodrigo Muniz saw the Cottagers win at Stamford Bridge for the first time since 1979.

Man City picked up four points from their two games - a one-all draw at home to Everton was followed by a two-nil win at Leicester on Sunday. The champions are four points outside the top four having played a game more. Pep Guardiola's side are fourteen points behind Liverpool halfway through the season.

Man United host Newcastle on Monday night after another disheartening defeat - they lost two-nil at Wolves and lie fourteenth in the table. Southampton remain rooted to the bottom of the table. Jarrod Bowen scored the winner for West Ham at St Marys on Wednesday. The Saints then went marching on to another defeat on Sunday, losing two-one at Crystal Palace.

An excellent score of 69 points this week leaves Tommy Walsh in first place for December. With just three games to play in the month he's twelve points clear of Brian Haughton and David Cooney who share second place. Gary Fitzpatrick is fourth with Anastas Popov and previous leader, Craig Calvert, sharing fifth place:

December 30th - The longest monthly competition of the year concluded with three matches on Monday night. Ipswich boosted their survival hopes with a surprise two-nil win at home to Chelsea. Goals from Delap and Hutchinson gave Kieran McKenna's side a much-needed three points. It was the same scoreline at Old Trafford where Newcastle won - goals from Alexander Isak and Joelinton saw Man United's woes continue. The points where shared at Villa Park where Brighton came from behind to draw two-all with Aston Villa.

Tommy Walsh held onto first place to win the December competition. He had sixteen points to spare over Anastas Popov and Brian Haughton who shared second place. Third place was shared by three people a further point back - Frank McSweeney, Gary Fitzpatrick and Gerry Draper. You can see the final leaderboard below:
